Development of brand packaging, messaging and ad campaign.

Somethings are just frustrating. But somethings are next level. They make us want to pull out our hair, scream at the top of our lungs in anger, and stamp our feet and pout like we’re little toddlers. But with social etiquette and all, we bottle that angst and just stew. Angry Burro gets you though. They’ve seen it all, lived it all, and have managed to bottle it all and create a tequila brand with bite…but in the smoothest way possible of course. The brand campaign for Angry Burro plays off the day-today things that get our goat…umm burro. With so many tequila brands going the smooth, sultry route for their branding this one is a welcome and human departure that not only forgives us of our frustrations but totally empathizes with us.
Brand development, copy, packaging and ad design
Santa Rita was looking for a fresh new approach. We developed a campaign as part of a pitch that reminds consumers to take the opportunity to create their own moments every day. Every moment is worth celebrating, so we encourage you to "Celebrate the Now".
Development of messaging and design for Los Amantes Mezcal campaign.
The Los Amantes brand was inspired by the Aztec legend of Mayahuel and Quetzalcoatl:
When the earth began there was an evil goddess in the sky named Tzintzimitl who kept the earth in darkness.
One day, Quetzalcoatl, the god of Redemption, tried to destroy her. Quetzalcoatl fell in love with Tzintimitl’s captive: Mayahuel, the goddess of Fertility. Quetzalcoatl rescued Mayahuel and brought her down to the earth, which infuriated Tzintzimtl, the evil goddess. Tzintzimtl found the two lovers and killed Mayahuel. Quetzalcoatl buried his love and destroyed Tzintziml. Light was restored to the earth. To comfort Quetzalcoatl, the God’s gave him a gift: his tears over Mayahuel’s burial gave birth to an agave plant. The plant exuded a sweet nectar of Mayahuel’s blood. When Quetzalcoatl drank the elixir, he was filled with feelings of peace and comfort.
This story and the process in which Mezcal is made lead us to our brand positioning. "Unearth the Spirit"
Every once in a while when I have some free time or am suffering from insomnia I like to develop a brand from scratch (just for the fun of it.) Everything from the concept, brand name, packaging, design and copy for the campaign.
I wanted to create brand messaging that would stand out in the whiskey category and deliver some attitude, while still giving us a chuckle. The brand campaign plays off the day to day things we kinda screw up on (...and yes, I've written some of these from personal experience). Lets be real, we all have a guilty conscience from time to time. The campaign plays off these little mistakes we make and allows us to poke fun at ourselves.
Nobody's Perfect is the brand that forgives us for occasionally screwing up.
